P2419H, Macbook Pro, not working

I bought a new Dell monitor P2419H and I am trying to get it connected to my MacBook Pro. I bought the USB Type-C to DP cable and I also have the USB Type-C to HDMI cable. I tried to connect the P2419H using the USB Type-C to DP cable and for the first few hours, it was displaying the screen. I then had to disconnect my Macbook Pro to take it elsewhere. When I returned and tried to connect it the same way it did not work. The P2419H gives the notification that it is going into PSM (power saving mode) and the screen shows "No DP signal detected". When I try to connect the P2419H using the USB Type-C to HDMI cable, the same message is shown "No HDMI signal detected". Is there a different wire/cable that I have to use with MacBooks? Are Dell monitors not compatible with MacBook Pro?

Any help on how to solve this issue would be great.

Thank you

I had same problem; realized I was on battery power only. I connected line power to the MacBook Pro and it is now working.

For some reason, my monitor has been working for the past 3 weeks. But guessing it might be because of the battery only thing. Try plugging in your power cord into your computer and then connect your monitor.
