Monitor warranty info using the serial number?
Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could help with the issue I am having. Most likely it has been discussed in another post, but it's worth a shot.
Since people have started working from home and have taken equipment from the office, including monitors and laptops, is there a way to check what serial number belongs to what model and the warranty state?
In the company, we use KACE to monitor the status of the laptops. As a test, I have installed Dell Command Monitor on a laptop to extract info about the monitors connected.
As you can see below, I only get the model number and the serial number:
Monitor 1: | Description: DELL U2417H Primary Status: OK Serial Number: 5K9YD87C753L Manufacture Date: 2018 Week 28 Current Resolution: 0 × 0 Size: 23.6" / 60 cm diagonal (53 cm × 30 cm) Standby Mode Supported: Yes Suspend Mode Supported: Yes Very Low Power Mode Supported: Yes |
Is there a tool I can use to cross-reference the info about the monitor with other documents that we have, for example purchasing? I'd like to make a coherent inventory and keep it up to date.
Much appreciated,
Georgiana

The manufacturer 20 digit serial number is not tied to any Dell data (purchased warranty, Dell order number, Dell customer number, etc.). You will have to use the Dell Service Tag number here to check warranty status, one monitor at a time.
