Monitor usb connectors
I have a u2715h monitor in the manual it says to connect the usb upstream to usb on computer . Now it says you can use # 7 usb downstream port on the back of the monitor . I have tried 5 different usb cables and none of them will go into port #7 on the back of the monitor . Can anyone tell me what the problem is ? Thanks , Mike

#7 on back of monitor is supposed to be USB port for connecting devices according to the manual. Could it be a mini-USB (or micro-USB) port rather than "standard" USB port?
Mini-USB "Standard" USB
#9 on bottom edge might be a mini-USB port to connect the monitor to a standard USB port on the PC based on what's in the manual.
If #7 (back) is actually mini-USB and #9 (bottom) is standard USB port, did they mislabel these 2 ports in the manual ? ?
And don't confuse #7 on bottom edge which is DisplayPort (video output port) with #7 on back which is supposed to be USB. They shouldn't have used the same numbers for ports on back and bottom!
If this doesn't help, post back and I'll see if I can get one of my Dell tech contacts to help.

Not sure if you have the model correct? Six possible 2715 monitors =
E2715H
P2715Q
S2715H
U2715H
UP2715K
UZ2715H
Check your invoice or press the Menu button to verify the model. Below is the U2715H.
1. AC power
3. HDMI MHL (2)
5. DisplayPort
6. mini DisplayPort
7. DisplayPort OUT
8. Audio Line out (speakers only. No headset usage)
9. USB Upstream (Use the the cable that shipped in the monitor box)
10a. USB 3.0 (3) (keyboard, mouse)
10b. USB 3.0 (wireless device)

So I don't understand why you said: " 5 different usb cables and none of them will go into port #7 on the back of the monitor." Did you try turning the connector over?
And thanks to Chris for jumping in...
