Monitor Shuts Off While Playing Games

I've been having a problem with the monitor that came with my Dell Dimension 8400. When I go to play a game, most recently being the Sims 2, after about 20 minutes, the monitor shuts off and the power button is an amber color instead of green. The computer remains on, but I can't get the monitor to turn back on. The only way I can get anywhere is by manually restarting the computer by holding the power button down.

I really need to find someway to fix this. Someone help me!

Sound like the computer is not remaining on as you thougt. Maybe the drives are still getting power but you are not computing. You may be overheating the system due to the video card or the power supply is being overtaxed for the same reason.

Have you made sure there is plenty of air space around the computer and you have blown all thedust out of it? The maybe get a higher power supply if that has not fixed it

Well, I got all the dust out of it. Unfortunately that has not worked.

And I've asked about my PSU and people are telling me that I do not need to replace it and that it should work  just fine.

Any other suggestions?
