Dell U2212HM has pink tint on the bottom of the screen..
Hi,
Just bought a Dell U2212HM a couple days back, I received it yesterday, and It has a pink tinting at the bottom of the screen.. Will I be able to get a replacement monitor? I bought it from the Dell.ca website just a few days ago..
Also will the replacement be brand new? Hope someone can help me out..
Thanks

Ali_Q,
Dell policy concerning monitor exchanges -
* We cannot choose a specific panel revision to be shipped when issuing a monitor exchange
* If the monitor exchange is setup inside the first 21 days from the invoice date, the replacement will be New
* If the monitor exchange is setup outside of the first 21 days from the invoice date, the replacement will be Refurbished/Used
Reset the monitor to factory defaults -
* Press the menu button
* Go to Auto Adjust
* Go to Other Settings
* Choose Factory Reset- Reset All Settings
* Exit the OSD (On Screen Display)
Run the built-in diagnostics:
* Unplug all of the video cable(s) from the back of the computer and monitor. The monitor then goes into the self-test mode
* Press and hold the Button 1 and Button 4 on the front panel simultaneously for 2 seconds. A gray screen appears.
Carefully inspect the screen for abnormalities
* Press the Button 4 on the front panel again. The color of the screen changes to red. Inspect the display for any abnormalities
* Press the Button 4 on the front panel again to change the color. Check all colors
* The test is complete when the white screen appears. To exit, press the Button 4 again
* Reconnect all cabling
* Post some pictures of the issue here and I will tell you if the monitor is within manufacturer specifications

Hi Chris,
Thanks for reply, followed the instructions, and added the pic below, It looks like it's more of a blue tint on the bottom & sides, would I be eligible for exchange? I bought the monitor on July 13th 2012.. It's actually very noticeable & annoying when I'm working on a white background..
Let me know
Thanks!

I think that the monitor is in manufacturer specifications and would not issue the monitor exchange. But, you should contact Dell Canada Order Support. Provide to them the picture. Maybe their opinion will differ. Provide to them the following data -
Email Address:
Name:
Shipping Address:
Phone Number:
Monitor Order number:
Monitor 20 digit PPID number:
Reason:
Link to a picture of the failure http://dell.to/OveySz
