Help desktop wont boot

Please help. I bought a used desktop from a friend including disks. Friend failed to tell me that it was his dads who passed. Sata4 wont register, it wont boot up, it wont boot up recovery, and its password protected. One  of the hard drives is reading as whiped. There are 2. I'm so frustrated with this. Please help. Any and all advice is welcome.
