The XPS 17 with Linux

Is there a plan to put out the XPS 17 with Linux? Is Dell waiting for the Groovy Gorilla OEM kernel support? I wouldn't have expected them to jump on a short term release.

@dennisobrien I don't think I deserve my kudo. I reviewed the chat transcript and while the i9 is coming, I didn't really get a straight answer on Ubuntu.

But, you know, watch this space:

I talked to a guy on the chat widget. He said the i9 chip and an Ubuntu Linux version were both pending.

I don't understand, how is this "solved"!? Clearly it's not solved, as for some reason Dell devices don't seem to be supporting one of the most widely used Linux OSs... if I wanted locked-down devices with vendor lock-in, I'd buy Apple! I don't understand Dell's reticence in supporting alternatives to the windows monopoly, but it's most disappointing.
