Network adapter disabled itself automatically in Dell 5420 Windows 10

we have Dell Latitude 5420 in our organization and we have observed that that wifi adopter disabled itself automatically. Every time we have to enable it again as soon as the user put the query. we have tried everything link updating the windows driver to the latest version but it still happens on the machines every 2-3 times a week. as users are domain users and they can not enable the wifi adopter by themselves and the support team do this. one more thing is that this issue is specific to Dell 5420 because we have other models in our environment like 5480, and 5410 but they are running fine.

Don't know if you had this resolved. Found out that on the Intel site there is a new version of the WiFi driver. So far installed this on four laptops and seems to be holding as havn't had any disconnects

The latest intel wi-fi driver version is 22.130.0.5.

Please download and install the wi-fi driver from the link mentioned below:

We are seeing the same issue within our organization as well, and the problem has been specific to the Dell 5420 model also.  Following this thread!!!

Any answers on this? We have had numerous employees be connected and the 5420 just disconnects and looses network connectivity only to find that the wifi driver disables itself.

Seriously anyone have a clue, this has been happening random on peoples systems for over a month.

Rather kind of sad that the only thing the IT folks in this thread know how to do is install drivers.

Hello!

Are you running the 5420 with external keyboards?
If not, make sure, that the user do not press the FN-Lock button (on my 5590 located on the ESC-key).
This happens when trying to hit the CTRL-ESC combo and instead the user hit FN-ESC combo and this will switch to the second key layout for the F-key.
Afterwards the PrintSreen key is switched to "turn wifi on/off".
Pls pardon my bad english.

Pls post result.

Best regards

Having this problem specifically on Dell Latitude 5420s in my org as well. Network adapter disables itself repeatedly throughout the workday. Been unable to resolve it so far. Following.

Same problem for me. Wifi adapter just disables itself few seconds after enabling. I'm using Intel 22.170.0.3 driver version (Aug 29, 2022)

Driver version 22.170.2.1 from Intel doesn't solve the problem either.

We are experiencing this as well.  ~350 5420's in our environment.  We are getting 1-2 calls per day.  Unable to track down any common link, as its happening with new and older Wi-Fi drivers.

I did have a person with this issue and we tried some things, but nothing seemed to work with Windows 10.
We did do a bios check and found a solution.
In bios, in the left hand column click on Connection. In the main page, you can go to the bottom of the page.

On that area will be the section Wireless Radio Control.

The two items below that should be in the Off position. If they are on, then they could be the issue. Turn them off and then at the bottom of the Screen click on Apply Changes.
