Bios functions locked due to misconfiguration( it has nothing to do with password since it isn't set),dell latitude 7280

Hello all present...

Please I would really like someone to help me with an error on my PC(Dell latitude 7280, i7, 7th gen.),, the laptop screen has been showing no bootable device found, as seen in the first picture, but after proceeding to f2, thereby reaching the bios menu. After some questionings on AI on how to resolve this Issue ,, I later.proceeded to boot sequence, where I started playing around on the boot list option, by adding and deleting boot option and likewise restoring settings to all options present, after this another problem aroused, and that is the gray out effect on,, not all,,but most enable and disable functions on bios, as seen in the other pictures. After this I went through YouTube tutorials, but still there's none to solve it, I tried all other ways to resolve this, but I still can't. So please if there's anyone, I repeat anyone that could help me with this problem I have been on for days, I would really be thankful for your help, for I am about to sit for an exam soon so please I really need a help .

If your Dell Latitude 7280 BIOS functions are locked due to a misconfiguration, you can try to reset the BIOS to factory defaults by either loading defaults within the BIOS setup or, if that fails, by clearing the CMOS settings.
Here's a breakdown of the methods:
1. Loading BIOS Defaults:
Access BIOS Setup:
Turn on or restart the computer, and repeatedly press the F2 key at the Dell logo until "Entering System Setup" appears.
Navigate to Load Defaults:
In the BIOS setup, find the option to "Load Defaults" or "Restore Settings" (whichever is listed).
Select BIOS Defaults:
Ensure "BIOS Defaults" is selected.
Confirm and Exit:
Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm and exit the BIOS setup, which will restart the computer.
2. Clearing CMOS Settings:
Caution:
Clearing CMOS settings will reset the BIOS settings to their factory defaults.
Access the Battery:
Remove the base cover, disconnect the battery cable from the system board, and remove the coin-cell battery.
Wait and Reassemble:
Wait for one minute, then replace the coin-cell battery, connect the battery cable, and replace the base cover.
3. BIOS Recovery (If Necessary):
BIOS Recovery Tool: If the above methods don't work, you might need to use the BIOS recovery tool. To do this, press and hold the Control and Escape keys while the computer is turned off, disconnect the AC power adapter, reconnect it while holding the keys, and release the keys after the recovery page appears.
Select Recover BIOS: On the recovery page, select "Recover BIOS" and press Enter.
Follow Instructions: Do not press any keys, reboot, or shut down during the recovery process.

BIOS Update:
You can also update the BIOS to the latest version, which may address any issues related to BIOS functionality.

Hi

In addition to the excellent answer above, I would suggest that AHCI and SECURE BOOT would be the preferred options.

Do you have the capability to create either/both

USB stick made with the Microsoft Creation Tool

USB stick containing a version of Linux Mint 22.1

The windows one has options to attempt Boot Repairs etc from the install media.

Something like this............

Please report any progress, or if in doubt please ask.

@anne_droid the AHCI and secure boot can't be accessed( they are greyed out) , I tried using the USB options like updating the bios and recovering the image but it shows an error which says: "Firmware update failed".

And I am using a windows 10, please.
