wireless adapter not working

Hello,  I have an issue with the wireless adapter on my Dell Studio laptop 1555 running windows 7.  I had issues with the wireless seeming to disconnect and I had to go in and reconnect.  This started happening more and more.  Then last night it stopped working all together.  I checked my wireless router and determined it is functioning fine.  I am able to connect my Kindle and Roku to the wireless.  I used an external wireless adapter and was able to connect to the network.  I have disabled and re-enabled the adapter, I uninstalled it, restarted and reinstalled it.  I am not receiving any error messages anywhere concerning it's functioning.  Yet it does not pick up any wireless networks.

Is the card dead??  My laptop is a year old.

Thanks!

I would try hard booting the router and modem to see if it corrects the problem.Unplug the router and modem for 60 seconds then plug the modem then router back in.See if it connects.

Click start>control panel>device manager>click (+) next to network adapters>double click your wireless adater >power management>uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".
