using 2 monitors [including laptop screen]..is this possible ?

Is it possible to plug an external monitor into the laptop so that i can have 2 displays and then drag stuff from one monitor to the other ? i tried plugign in my spare monitor into the video out port but i could only get it to show what was on the laptops screen. i couldnt drag stuff from one monitor to the next.

has anyone got any idea how to set this up ?

Easy, do it ALL the time. Plug in the monitor before you start the laptop, then it will find the new monitor as it reboots. Right click on the desktop for "Display Properties" and pick the "Setting" tab. Yours is probably set for one monitor (the lcd screen). There should be a way there to tell it two monitors. You can drag the pictures around so that they look the same as they are sitting on your desk. You need to make one of them the "primary" screen, probably the laptop. Also, click the place that says "extend my Windows". I use the extra monitor all the time at work, and often plug-in a video projector for on-site business meetings. You can choose the resolution, but it will try to do what is best. Both screens don't have to be the same resolution, it is still better than one screen. Works great!
