Right-Click on the touchpad doesn't work
My right click (and I believe left-click also) doesn't work on an Inspiron N5010. It works with an external mouse and I uninstalled and reinstalled the driver to no avail. Any suggestions?
Thanks

>If Dell's Touchpad driver/software is installed make sure the buttons are NOT disabled via software.
[click START button - Control Panel - Hardware and Sound - mouse]
>boot into "safe mode" - same problem?
>If the settings are fine run Dell Diagnostics - test system - custom test - pointing device - PS/2 mouse(=touchpad)

Hi jbright7,
Welcome to the Community. To add to what Microtest said, I also suggest you uninstall the toucpad drivers and reinstall it using the below link. To uninstall, click on start, right click on computer, click on properties, click on device manager, click on the symbol next to pointing devices, right click on synaptics touchpad and click on uninstall, click ok to comfirm, once its removed use the below link to reinstall the touchpad drivers, and restart your computer.

If the Dell Diagnostics on the touchpad fail, then you will need to have the palmrest replaced.
Thank you
