Remove "Keyboard backlight" notice?
I have a Latitude E6420 running Windows 7, purchased in 2011. This unit does NOT have the keyboard backlight option. The Dell Client System Update ran about two weeks ago, and ever since, I keep seeing the message:
Keyboard backlight is turned off
And it shows up on a big obnoxious block, and takes a number of seconds before it kindly disappears. The message shows up every time I wake the computer up from sleep or hibernate. I'd rather NEVER see it. Looking at the Control Panel, Keyboard Properties, Backlight tab, "Keyboard Brightness" is UNchecked.
How can I change the settings so this message never appears? I mean, since it is NOT EVEN AVAILABLE, why would I want to see an annoying popup message?
I am guessing some bright bulb at Dell decided this was an important feature to add to the latest Dell Client System software. I'd sure like to unscrew that bulb. But lacking that option, can someone tell me how to disable this "feature"?

Harish, thanks for the idea. I tried that, and found the 'Keyboard Illumination' setting already was disabled.
Then I thought I'd try the "services" settings: Start menu, type "services", click the "services" choice. I found the "Dell Feature Enhancement Pack Service", stopped it (right-click menu), then changed the properties to "Manual" startup. That seemed to do the trick -- I can sleep the unit, and the message no longer displays.
Apparently the Dell software isn't "smart enough" to check the bios settings for the keyboard backlight.

Hi stevec5088,
The following steps will help you disable the 'Backlit Keyboard' feature:
Shut the system down, restart it and keep tapping 'F2' key at the 'Dell splash' screen. This will take you to the 'BIOS' screen from where, select 'System configuration'. Under 'Keyboard Illumination' change the value to 'Disable'. Once done, restart the system and check if that has fixed the issue.
I hope this helps.
Please let me know in case of any queries.
Thanks and regards
