My laptop does not recognize my charger

I have dell inspiron 15 by 5000 series, its core i5 4th gen. I bought it around 7 months ago ...its still in warranty but i dont have a local warranty and i cant send it abroad. It was completely fine until last night...i woke up this morning and its not charging. I have no idea what went wrong, there is no burning smell...i didnt keep it plugged in so it couldn't have had some electric problem. It works as long as the charger is connected but if thr charger is removed it turns off. My drivers are up to date i checked. I cannot take out my battery so i cannot do anything of the things dell support has suggested in similar posts. I have exams and i need my laptop for them, please help.

If there's no other symptom (such as failure to recognize the AC adapter -- F2 at powerup to check), the battery needs to be replaced.

If the AC adapter IS NOT recognized, the battery won't charge.   In order, try (1) a new adapter, (2) a replacement DC jack, and (3) if neither of those works, the mainboard needs to be replaced.
