Motherboard repair cost?
Help - I just called Dell and, long-story short, their tech support folks think that my motherboard is fried. Unfortunately, my laptop is no longer under warranty and I did not purchase any support options. So, according to Dell, it may cost up to $500 to replace the motherboard. I have no idea how much a motherboard costs...? Would it be cheaper to go to my local repair guy (who manages our office computers but this problem is with my personal laptop) and have him make the repairs? Or should I wait and send it back to Dell. Time is also an issue here and it'll take about 2 weeks for my laptop to go back and forth to Dell.
Any thoughts are much appreciated!
Ah - almost forgot - I have a Dell Inspiron E1505 laptop that's just over a year old.

If you shop, note that there are two different boards - one has onboard video and the other does not (while you can interchange them, if you do, and have the integrated model now, you'll need a video card for the non-integrated one if you buy that).
