Latitude E5430 Fingerprint not working, Windows 8.1

Hello all,

I would be really glad if you could help me resolve an issue regarding my Latitude E5430.

I'm interested in signing in using my fingerprint sensor, however when I go to Settings on the charms bar, then Sign-in options, I don't see the fingerprint option.

The driver, as far as I can, is installed and said to be working properly, and yet the option is not there.

I've tried numerous options, from flashing BIOS to trying alternative drivers but nothing seems to be working.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Greetings Fixitboy,

You must use the Dell Data Protection | Security Tools v1.4 utility to enroll your prints. Below is the download for v1.4. It’s recommended to uninstall any previous versions of DDP ST before you install the below.

http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=DCTGF&fileId=3386679756&osCode=W732&productCode=dell-data-protection-security-tools&languageCode=EN&categoryId=DP

Here are the instructions regarding how to use DDP ST:

ftp://ftp.dell.com/Manuals/all-products/esuprt_software/esuprt_endpoint_security_soln/dell-data-protection-security-tools_Deployment%20Guide2_en-us.pdf

It will probably be best to start from page 13 once you start the installation.
