Headset Not Working
HI,
Just purchased the Inspiron 13 7000 series last week and I am attempting to use a headset. The microphone will not pick up anything sound. Is the something I need to download to make this work?. I purchased two different headsets and both have the same problem.

Hello. You should not have to download anything for the mic port to work on a brand new laptop. I suggest that you contact tech support and if they cannot get it working before your short return period has expired, you ought to consider returning it due to defect.
PS if it has Win10 there are a lot of audio problems being reported with that OS that might eventually get straightened out. Also your laptop's audio port is a combo jack. That means that it only works with a mic that is part of a smart phone headset that has a single plug. It won't work with traditional headsets that have 2 plugs.
