Dell Vostro 3550 Fingerprint Reader
Trying to set up this application. Have downloaded the necessary programme but on trying to start the set up I get a message " Fingerprint Reader not connected". How do I connect the Reader?

Hi,
Welcome to the community
I think we need to reset the connection of your fingerprint reader. Here is the link of the manual ;
support.dell.com/.../om_en.pdf
In your case, you just need to remove keyboard for you to access the end cable of the finger print reader ;

Thanks for the info. I have removed the keyboard and found that the cable is attached (plugged in) so it would seem there is something else keeping it from functioning.

Hi,
Did you reseat the cable? Try reseating it please and test the functionality. If same thing happens, possible the reader is faulty or the motherboard (Where the cable is attached)
