Connecting Laptop to TV, burning DVD slideshows that will play in my DVD player

I'm putting together a slideshow for a friends wedding.  I'm doing alright on putting it together on MyDVD but I tried to burn a copy and play it in my DVD player and it didn't work.  Is there a way I can connect my laptop with an S-cable or a way to burn the DVD so it will play in my DVD player?

If I remember correctly, Dell uses DVD+RW/R discs, which is incompatible with most dvd players.  and yes, you can hook up video as long as you have such a port on back of your computer.  If so, then you can find out how to use it by using windows help (assuming you still have original windows which came with your dell).  If you need more help, post a more detailed question on exactly what you need help with.

I did say most dvd players, the compatibility tends to be bit shaky.  Also the discs may be the problem.  However, I was trying to answer your concern about the tv connector.  If its a dell inspiron 5100 or 1100 it will definately connect to the tv and display your pictures as a slide shot.  Most other dell models can achieve similar, but the above two are the ones I have experience with.
