cannot download facebook homepage-Java?

HI everyone- I am very ignorant in these matter and the solution may be easy: when I enter my homepage on facebook, I only have the blue facebook band on the top of the page, the tags "home", "profile", and "account" but the rest of the page is white. The computer always tells me I must uninstall Java and reinstall it, which I did, but not only did it not solve the problem, but I still get this Java message.
