AC Adapter Warning
I have a Latitude C840. When I turn it on, I get an error:
"Warning, 70 watt 20V 3.5A AC adapter detected. System will not be caple of running in full performance mode without a 90 watt 20V 4.5A AC adapter. Push F1 to continue"
This is the adapter that came with the system (4 years old) I also have another adapter, also 90 watt 20V 4.5A and I get the same error on boot up.
Neither Battery will charge.
It does seem to run OK while on AC Power.
The local repair shop said motherboard was shot and it wasn't worth fixing.
Anyone else had a problem like this?

Even if it is the mainboard, they're not outrageously expensive:
