How the HDR feature may affect the color representations (color space) on OLED screen

Color shifting can be observed when Dell customers enable or disable the HDR (High Dynamic Range) feature in Display Settings under the OS environment. This is expected behavior because the current standard on Windows 10 is SDR (Standard Dynamic Range), which is with limited representation ability of the dynamic range compared to what HDR is capable of. That means, HDR allows you to see more of the detail and color in scenes with a high dynamic range.

How to enable/disable the HDR in Windows 10


When displaying the non-HDR supported content like web surfing, office applications or non-HDR videos, the color shifting would be easily observed. It is highly recommended to disable the HDR feature under normal usage and enable it when displaying the HDR-supported content.
