NL400 unable to use with drives less than 4TB
Hi all,
We are trying to reuse some Isilon NL400 with 1,3 and 4TB drives. We want firstly to remove all configs and info in the disk so we are performing a "isi_reformat_node" procedure. We reformat nodes with 4TB drives correctly but with 1TB or 3TB drives we see this error message:
newfs_efs: One or more installed drives are too smal for this product
Then system restarts and wipe is not performed. Could someone help us to solve this situation?.Is very strange a limitation like this.
Regards,

Hi, you might need to reach Support or possibly beyond. If you buy these drives as "upgrade" they will create a new one.

Hello jtejada.ralco,
Are your 1tb and 3 tb drives on your DPE or are they on expansion DAE?

Hi Ozen,
That sounds amazing. Do you know where these files are placed or how to create a new configuration file?

Hi,
All nodes have some as-built configuration files that tries to match actual inventory (disks, memory etc) during each boot. If you would like to change disk configuration 4TB to else you need to have another configuration file created for this disk size.

Firstly you need to check whether your configuration is CTO or SKU based mode. And then If you want to change the original configuration, you should manually update receipt and even asbuilt etc. file based on your requested. Then reformat the node again.
