Backup local user password

Hi All

I am upgrating OneFS from 6.5.4 to 7.2

I have read the Upgrade Planning and Process Guide already

At p.29. It show "Reset the passwords of local accounts after the OneFS upgrade"

How can I backup user password and restore after upgrade OneFS

Just something you will want to be aware of, upgrades from 6.5 to 7.2 are not supported.  You would want to first upgrade from 6.5 to either 7.0 or 7.1 and then wait for the upgrade job to complete before performing the upgrade to 7.2.

Here are some other useful documents:

https://support.emc.com/docu58020_OneFS-7.2.0-MR-Release-Notes.pdf?language=en_US

Unfortunately to the best of my knowledge there is no way to backup and restore the local user passwords.

Hello,

I don't think there is any utility within Isilon to perform the same.  You need to  keep a track of local user password and after upgrade login using  root account from webui and reset passwords accordingly.

Thanks
