Upgrade of Inspiron 7786 disk drive

The 512-GB SSD disk drive on my Inspiron is full. Dell does not appear to offer an upgrade. I have some questions concerning what options I might have.

1. The current disk description says "Optane Memory H10 32GB/512GB SSD". Can this disk be replaced by a commercially available SSD, or does the Optane Memory restrict me in some way? Is the Optane memory built into the disk, or is it separate and configured to work with whatever SSD is installed?

2. Another option is apparently to add a hard disk. If I take this option, how difficult is it to move the user accounts to this disk? I use Microsoft OneDrive. Will it recognize this change or will it keep trying to put the files back on the SSD?

Thanks in advance for answers to these issues.

Options 2 is better, as option 1 will involve installing SSD, Cloning it and your old SSD will be useless, unless you invest more for a casing.

- Opt for a 2.5 inch SSD instead for better performance. once SSD is installed, open one Drive settings and unlink your account.

Relink your account and this time choose new SSD  as your location. One drive, will now move to new SSD . Link

Once you have verified that all files are available in New one drive location, you can delete  old one Drive data from C:/users/username/One Drive.

XPS_Man,

Are you saying add a second SSD? Doesn't the online Inspiron 7786 2-in-1 Setup and Specifications PDF show that you can only have one SSD and one SATA HDD?

Just saw this response. Now I am really confused. I can get 2.5" SATA SSDs online. Does any sata drive not meet the requirement? Why does the computer care about anything but the interface standard? Since I was about to order an SSD, a definitive answer to this is needed. Thanks.
