Keyboard problem - Left 'shift' key doesn't work with 9, o, l keys in laptop

On my laptop Dell Inspiron 14Z N411Z, left shift + 9,o,l, is not working. Updated latest BIOS and reinstalled the touchpad and keyboard drivers.  Could not find a new/updated driver for keyboard.  Right shift and all key combinations and OSK is working fine.  OS: Windows 7 sp1, 64 bit. Please help me to find  a solution.

Does an external USB keyboard exhibit the same problem?

If not your laptop's keyboard is bad which I suspect.
