Inspiron G7, RAM upgrade
I have a Dell Inspiron G7 with 16GB 2666 MHz RAM. Would I be able to upgrade it to 32GB 3200MHz or would it not work?

If the RAM is otherwise compatible, yes. However, the CPU controls the RAM speed - it will run at the same speed your RAM does now, even if the RAM is capable of faster operation.

The Inspiron G7 15 7590 onlne Setup and Specifications PDF shows 2666MHz, not 3200MHz =

you can upgrade the RAM to 32GB but clock RAM frequency would be only as high as model supports.
Which G7 model do you have.

A related question: If CPU controls the RAM, and CPU is capable of up to 128 GB of RAM, why is an upgrade limited to 32 GB?
