If the RAM is otherwise compatible, yes. However, the CPU controls the RAM speed - it will run at the same speed your RAM does now, even if the RAM is capable of faster operation.

you can upgrade the RAM to 32GB but clock RAM frequency would be only as high as model supports.
Which G7 model do you have.

A related question: If CPU controls the RAM, and CPU is capable of up to 128 GB of RAM, why is an upgrade limited to 32 GB?
