error message for True Color on boot up
i have a Dell Inspiron 15 that is about 5 years old with windows 10 on it. in the last week, i have gotten an error message about the app True Color. it does not appear every time i boot up - just sometimes. The message is:
True Color is not configured correctly. Reinstall the application
1. i never knew i had this app
2. i clicked on the app (after finding it) to see what it is all about. and since i never knew about it, i had never configured it.
3. when i look at the apps on my computer, i have truecolor and truecolorxml tables, both with a date of 10/22/2020
4. i cannot find where to download it from in order to reinstall it
5. since the date on the app is so current, will a new download fix the problem?
thanks for any light that can be shed on this.

thanks for the link. i installed the later version. so far no error messages. the true color preferences look the same to me. time will tell.

With a 5 year old PC its likely the CMOS Memory backup battery is failing. Generally the lifespan of the battery is 5 years. Suggest you replace the battery as a first step (may be all that's needed).
You failed to include your exact PC model number (always include that on any initial problem post) so I can't link you to the Dell service manual and procedure to change the coin cell battery (usually a 2032 battery).
Go to the link below, enter your service tag number or model number and you can access the Documentation.

i did get a message that i should enter my service tag, which i replied to.
1 or 2 years ago i did replace my battery - and what a job that was. the whole laptop had to taken apart just to get to the battery (and we had a job finding a replacement battery!). so, i doubt that that is the problem. thanks for suggesting it though.
i have an inspiron 15 laptop.

Take a look at the linked thread below. It has a fix.
