Docking station Dell k17a001 with Inspiron 3593

I have docking station k17a001 that has USB type C output to connect laptop for charger+keyboard +screens.

I have 1 more leptop Dell Inspiron 3593 that don't have type C input.

How can I connect Inspiron 3593 to docking station k17a001 ? Thanks!

@lopp09980  The actual dock model there is the WD15. The K17A is a regulatory code. But you can’t make that setup work, at least not if you expect video output. The WD15 like most USB-C docks relies on receiving a video signal via USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode, which is a capability where a USB-C port can have a GPU output wired to it. That isn’t available on USB-A “regular USB” ports, so your system would have no way of sending a video signal to that dock. There are no adapters that will allow you to combine your system’s USB port, HDMI output, and power port into a single USB-C connection to the dock, if that’s what you were thinking. You‘d need a dock designed for a USB-A connection, like the D6000. They work by using “indirect display” technology called DisplayLink — not to be confused with DisplayPort. That allows them to run video over regular USB-A, but that technology also has drawbacks I’ve written about in the post marked as the answer here. Regular USB-A also cannot be used for charging your system. Unfortunately if you want a full docking station experience, you have the wrong system.
