Dell Inspiron 1545 battery issue
hello,
I have an old laptop Dell Inspiron 1545 (ddr2 4gb , cpu T9800, 120ssd). Laptop work fine , windows 10, office , youtube (videos with 60fps don't work but is fine).
The issue with this laptop started when I choose to buy a battery LMDTK New 6 CELLS Laptop Battery
to update the bios because was A11 and I saw on dell website the last version is A13 so I order the battery from aliexpress, after 60days battery arrived.
I plug the battery (had 85% power) and update the bios to A13 from that moment the battery stop charging is stuck at 93%. I google it and find the A14 bios, update to A14 but same thing battery is not charging.
Try to downgrade the bios to A12 but don't let me from windows and ms dos and a11 bios is no where to find.
The laptop won't start with the battery plugged in, need to connect the AC power cord and if I remove the power cord when battery is connected the laptop shut down instantly like no battery is there.
I have two AC adapters of 90W that work fine (I got another laptop Dell Latitude ) I can switch the ac adapters and both work in both laptops so 100% is not the AC.
I think is the "new" bios or to be a fake battery (I know is a replacement battery but it should work if is a good one ) ? but in ubuntu, windows 7 and 10 (HWmonitor and other apps ) I see lots of informattion about the battery (I attach screenshots)
I know is an old laptop 2009 I don't use it anymore but I wanna make it work because I have an history with it and the image is great , sounds is good , with the ssd is a nice laptop that work fine.
any answer is welcome
thank you

I do that trick by pressing the power button 15-30sec without battery and AC power but nothing, laptop will not turn on only with battery in , I also remove the battery from motherboard and reset the bios but nada.

Check if the batter and the AC adapter is getting detected in the Bios. Press the F2 key at the Dell Logo on startup, to enter the BIOS, under General select Battery information, check what it says next to Battery Health, and AC Adapter, if ac adapter says not installed, try another AC adapter. If still no go, then it could be a motherboard issue.

You were probably right about the battery being fake. Dell batteries must come from Dell or a trusted Dell supplier. Most batteries sold on marketplaces are scams or used batteries on their last legs or even fake.

Your old model will not have a genuine new replacement battery available. Try the original battery again and always use the adapter. See if you can use the computer like that as a desktop replacement. Just remember to shutdown completely before unplugging the adapter.
