Dell 7567 MaxxAudio doesn't detect headphones.

Okay, it all started with a mic problem. One day the mic just stopped working, unable to record anything but white noises. So I reinstalled the audio driver (the Realtek one), and the mic seems to be working properly again.

Later that night I notice the MaxxAudio Pro won't recognize my headphones, so I couldn't use the Dimensions feature.

I can't manually choose device either, the list is literally "Internal Speakers".

Then I tried to reinstall the N VIDIA HD audio driver (Waves Extensible). The problem persists.

Here is it, I've connected my headphones and the Pop-up doesn't appear as usual, I can't choose the headphones from the device list either. I'll be so grateful if anyone can tell me how to fix this.

I was able to fix it by running RtkNGUI64.exe (in C:\Program Files\Realtek\Audio\HDA), clicking on Advanced then Jack Information and un-checking "Enable auto popup dialog, when device has been plugged in".

Now sound is switching to headphone as soon as I plug in.

Also clicked on the jack icon to set my default device.

Hope this works for others too...

Can you go to the Advanced options and turn the popup back on?

When you use a wired headset, select headset and not headphone so the microphone will work..

Your system appears to be stuck. The fact the popup does not show up is a problem because that means the system has noticed a change in the configuration.

You might try booting with the headset plugged in to see if it makes a difference but you may have to reinstall or uninstall and then reinstall the Realtek driver.  If it has a repair option, you might try that.

If you can't tell, only one of your attachments shows up.  The second one does not seem to be linked to a .png file.

It's already on, the problem is not that the popup doesn't 'pop-up' anymore, it's the fact that I cannot choose another output device (I think Windows or Waves doesn't know that I'm using headphones)

And I don't use a headset, I use a pair of headphones + internal mic.

Just for the record, it was working fine a week ago with this very same headphone. I've tried different hearphones and ear-buds but none work, so the fault is of Windows or Waves.

I've already reinstall it multiple times. I've not tried booting the machine with the headphone plugged in though. I'll update with more infomation this evening. Thank you

Do you have the Waves icon in the hidden icons in the Taskbar? Do you have a listing for Waves in the Apps listing on the start menu?

You can use either of those to start the Waves UI. If you plug in a headset and it will not allow you to change to that device, you may need to completely uninstall the Sound device and reinstall, while offline.

Hello, I have the same issue with my 7567.

Waves MaxxAudio no longer shows a popup or detects any device inserted in the audio jack. However when a audio device is plugged in and the system is started/restarted, the device is still not recognized however sounds are played through it.

I'd like to point out that there hasn't been an update since September 2018 for Realtek Sound Drivers.

I am running the same driver you show.

Can you confirm you show the Waves icon in the hidden icons on the Taskbar and can start the MaxxAudio UI...

When the UI is open, can you go to the Advanced options and verify the allow popup is selected?

If the above is not the case, can you start Waves from the App listing on the Start Menu?

When I have problems, I will do a full reinstall.  This means downloading the driver you want to use.  Then go offline and uninstall the Realtek audio drivers and check the box to uninstall all drivers.  You should end up with an HD audio driver.  If you get another Realtek driver, there is still one left so uninstall again.

When you get where you want, reinstall the downloaded driver while still offline.

If you can't get an option to install a downloaded driver, does it give the option to uninstall or repair?

I am running the latest version of Win 10 and can plug and unplug a headset with normal operations.

Yes, i can confirm Waves icon in the hidden icons on the taskbar. I start the interface from there.

Advanced Options > Pop up enabled.

Still nothing. I will follow your re-installation steps and give feedback.

You might also try changing the popup selection and rebooting, then change it back. Maybe some setting is stuck.

Also check the Task Manager and Startup tab.  The Waves needs to be enabled and in several situations like yours, it was not.
