Can't install Dell update for Windows universal v4.7.0

When I try to install it, everything goes well until the last step where it starts rolling back actions and I get this message.Screenshot_20221106_085227.png What should I do now?

Hello,

Try again and when it shows you that screen in your screenshot again check the box show the windows installer log and post any error messages you find in the log.

Hello,

Looking at that log i see

Property(S): UnSupportedOSDetected = Aborting the installation process as the application is not supported on your operating system.

However inpiron 5410 does show up in that link i posted under "compatible systems" it looks like it is a bug and the only one who can fix it is dell.

Here is the installation log. I can see many errors here. Help me finding out the solutions for these. Try ctrl+f to search, told you just in case, nvm.

Hello,

Another thing i found is

MSI (c) (10:64) [18:50:19:438]: Windows Installer installed the product. Product Name: Dell Update for Windows Universal. Product Version: 4.7.0. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: Dell Inc.. Installation success or error status: 1603.

this is a msi error code more information about this error here however be verry carefull with messing with windows permissions are you sure there are no "leftovers" from the old dell update version ? the old dell update and the universal version are not compatible.

I am quite sure there r no leftovers from prev. dell update app, I checked apps & features and also control panel. However, there can be some folders and registries left even after uninstalling like my SupportAssist installation was prevented due to some leftover folders and registries as explained here.

SYSTEM account has full control over the PROGRAM FILES folder and it's not encrypted too.

Hello,

Yes it can be caused "leftover" registry entries however messing with registry is not without risk i would check

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell"

"C:\Program Files\Dell"

for leftovers after that use a registry cleaner that searches "useless" no longer needed registry entries but backup your registry before you change anything.
