Inspiron 5680, M.2 SSD, maximum size?
Hey Chris,
I just purchased the 5680 with the i7 and 128GB SATA M.2. Looking to upgrade but you seem to be limiting the size from this thread to 256GB MAX? Am I missing something? Also the existing M.2 card has two notches (keys) at the top. Do I have to purchase the PCIe/NVMe upgrade with two keys as well (B & M key) or will one with a single key do as in the jpg below?

For example would I be able to upgrade to this M.2?

For my notes, click my username and send me the PC service tag number.
What you are asking was never tested by Dell. I can only post what Dell actually tested/validated. The maximum was 256GB. All of the tested/validated ones in that list have the two key.
User kramer80 got the non-tested single key Samsung 960 EVO NVMe M.2 2280 SSD to work in their Inspiron 5680. They did not specify the size. You could send them a private message and ask.

Im so confused if my pc is pcie/nvme or not! Whats the fastest I can go if I were to upgrade to the fastest ssd for my motherboard? Would it be 3500 mb/s or no? My pc is a Dell Inspiron 5680!
