Inspiron 24 AIO won't turn on

I have a 4 yo Inspiron 24 Desktop AIO that was working fine until the RTC kept kicking off and beeping (needed to reset on BIOS page) I got the battery and replaced it inside but now the unit won't turn on at all.  The power supply is working (green light) but when I push the power button it just blinks once (amber light) and goes off.. nothing else happens.  I tried to discharge by holding the power button and redoing the power supply but nothing... I can't find anywhere what 1 blink light means.  Any help please?  Thanks

To remove the pin cap, just pull it straight up, either with fingers or plastic extractor tool.  Have you seen the pin cap located between CMOS battery and RAM slots.  Usually, there is a printed instruction on motherboard, showing you which pins for which function.  Just short CMOS pin for 5 seconds, or leave battery out for 5 minutes.  ESCD data (BIOS) will be reset to default.

Point is, learning and practicing to troubleshoot your machine which still has a high chance for revival.  On a side note, be certain to use correct AC adapter intended for the machine to provide sufficient power.

System board, BIOS or ROM failure.

Replace the coin cell batter again, ensure the right side (+) is up.

With power adapter plugged in, press and hold power button for 30 seconds, hopefully it will trigger BIOS recovery mode.

Not quite a good sign.  Which is the specific model number for you Inspiron 24 AIO.  I want to research on error code and BIOS recovery options.

It is model 5459..and the green light on the power block only blinks while plugged into the computer.. not when it;s just plugged into wall .  Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the machine model number.  From users experience, this type of machine has a potentially loose cable when users attempted works on the machine.

You may want to go through the process of opening and inspecting each of the cable and making sure that they are all firmly seated.

I did check all cables... all is good with those.. nothing looks amiss inside... tried to power again.. now the green light on block stayed solid and didn't see any blinking light at power button... but still didn't turn on... don't know if anything else can be done or if this one is dead... if I need to pitch it, what should I do about clearing the info inside since I can't turn on to restore back to factory?  Do I need to just break it apart to get rid of it?  I really appreciate all your help

"I did as you suggested...no power but I now see the green light on power supply block is blinking..."  Does this mean you couldn't enter BIOS recovery?

I understand that computer knowledge is different from person to person.  Before writing it off, you may try to exhaust all repair option.  If you decide to get rid of the machine (sell for part), just take out the HDD, SSD as it contains your personal log in and private data.

Just one more question (hopefully)  I located the pswd jumper but how do I remove it (the black plastic cover is really in there)   to uncover the pins?   Do I need a special tool?  Thanks again

I was able to enter the bios recovery before (to keep resetting the RTC) but then I didn't use the computer for quite a while... when I went back to use it there was no power... I changed the CMOS battery but still getting black screen... no power... no noise etc.

I appreciate your help... could not get the pins out (they are marked) but don't budge... no way with fingers.. needlenose pliers, tweezers, etc.. I think I'm done with this one... gave it a fair shot to revive.. but a new one will be worth it in just getting rid of the frustration ..lol..   Thank you again for all your help..  take care.

It's not the pins that get moved, but the jumper that connects the pins.
