TF/Clone basics
I'm relatively new to EMC's Timefinder family so I apologize for my ignorance. I am trying to "clone" a concatenated SDS meta volume (7x100gb LUNs), and mount the clone back to the source server (as a new mount point).
I have created (7) source and (7) target symvols of identical size in a Symmetrix Disk Group and activated them one at a time, but I'm not quite understanding the point at which the clone copy is complete, when I can "terminate" (?) it, and when I can mount the cloned filesystem to the host.
The Time Finder CLI Product Guide seems to be indicating that once I "terminate" the clone the data is now "invalid". Is the definition of "invalid" supposed to mean that the target data is corrupt, or simply no longer in sync with the source? Is the basic set of steps 1). create DG, 2). add volumes 3). activate 4). terminate, 5) mount?
Any cheat sheets, guides, or scripts that you could point me to would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

so the process is to create device group, assign source devices to it, assign target devices to it using -tgt option at the end of your symld command, create the group (using -copy or -precopy in addition to -differential if you need to do incremental synchs later on) and last step is to activate. As soon as you activate you take a point in time copy of the source luns ..even though in the background data is still being copied to the target devices (-copy option).

Hopefully I will get some advance notice when this process needs to be done so that I can insure that the copy is complete, but if not, how can I tell when the copy is 100% complete. Or is that a moot point due to the PIT functionality?
