Slow Solaris , very strange
hi all
we have new hosts ( solaris 10 sparc with 2 hba Emulex-LPe11000)
all drivers and patches on EMC recommended level)
solaris hosts take 3 hours to reboot if hba connected , but if i disconnect hba solaris reboot normally
format command on sloaris take long time display the disk, mount take time also although disk size less than 50GB
if disconnect hba2 which is connected to fabric 2 , solaris work fine , mount , fromat , reboot take normal time
hba1 and hba2 swapped , and still disconnect hba connect to fabric 2 solve the problem , ( swapping HBA to make sure both hba is ok)
so if hosts connected to both fabric i have problem . if connect only to fabric 1 then no problem , if connected to fabric 2 only then i have problem.
this issue on 2 hosts same hardware and os configuration
This host connected to 8 FA ports on VMAX ,

are you using PowerPath ? Are FA parameters Solaris "friendly" ?

powerpath used PowerPath 5.2 , and even uninstall powerpath , same issue . as problem in lower level
flag was set on bin file by emc , as in bin file
Common SN , SC3, SPC2, Disable Queue Reset, OS2007, Enable Point to Point mode, UWN , ACLX , EAN flags enabled

if hba2 connected and zoned to dir 5F1,6F1,7F1,8 F1 , then it will take long time
but if hba2 connected and zoned to dir 6F1,7F1,8F1m then it will work ok
