Reclaiming storage

You know decommissions are always the combined efforts of sysadmins and storage folks , and as a storage guy we are the final person to confirm the storage is fully decommissioned. Ofcourse i had doubt about the physical drive removal part , but for It is for the sysadmin that i am looking for some kind of docs from EMC to follow the steps involved in removing the storage.

thanks

i agree with you,  you tend to see a lot more documentation from EMC on how to present storage versus reclaiming.  You will need to put your "technical writer" hat on and document it for them . I just looked in the latest Symmetrix Procedure generator and they do not have anything that has to do with reclaiming storage.

I thought this deserved its own topic since there is clearly some robust opinion on the need for reclamation guidance...  Thus, I branched this off to it's own topic.

After lots of googling in Powerlink we  found out Primus Solution emc96258 in Knowledge base to "Remove a LUN from a Windows host" . Welcome to any other articles which helps to do the same purpose in other OSs .
