Presenting same LUN's on a Clustered Server

Hello Everyone,

Please correct me, if I am wrong. I can map a same LUN on all of the servers if they are in a Window's Cluster right or not. If yes I right, I have a new reporting business intelligence tool called "QlikView". And I have no idea about Qlikview Cluster. But this tool is installed on to couple of New Server in my environment and they are in a cluster. Now I can map them the same LUN on this Qlikview cluster (all the servers), without damaging the data on the LUN right.

The only knowledge I know about this cluster is that, it works on the same as Windows Cluster, that if one server is writting the data on to the LUN, others cannot write.

Thank You

Rama

EMC supports Microsoft Windows Clustering and the device locking and reservations that Microsoft uses.

As far as any other Clustering software is concerned - if we have not qualified it then it is not supported.

Hi

The procedure is correct for clustering .But i never tried this with live data on the LUN.I would sujjest you to Clone the Lun or Snap it atelast make a backup before doing this.

Best of Luck
