old fconfig fcompare symcli commands

I am doing some work at a customer site, and they have very old legacy volume logixs commands.

They use the fconfig and fcompare commands to check devices on reboot etc.

With Symcli 6.5 symmask, symmaskdb do we have equivalent commands or flags to perform the same function or do we have to script a bit more with symmask, syminq etc.

Thanks

Andy

The customer has used these commands as a check when they reboot their nodes to see if they get all the correct devices back. To be honest they are not that concerned it was just that they wondered if these commands had been updated in the new versions of SE.

there is always syminq or sympd list, have you looked into those ?  There is the stand alone inq as well that will list devices on the host.

Will probably use these commands anyway, just wondered if there was anything specific in solutions enabler that releated to fcompare or fconfig

The answer to your question is basically no - this functionality was available with volume logix 2.3 and is not available in Solutions Enabler 6.5 or 7.x

You should be able to get the basic functionality using symmaskdb outputs and say sympd list or symdev list along with syminq.

Note that if the array the customer has still supports the old volume logix software it is quite possible that the newer Solutions Enabler software would not support the level of microcode.
