Failover excercise
Hi,
We're planning for failover test , will discard data change at R2 side after completion of DR drill.
Can we use the following commands?
symrdf -g grp failover ; Begin failover
symrdf -g grp establish ; to enable production after test
Thanks.

Thanks for the reply.
We don't want prod to be available during dr test.
Are you saying I have both options - failover & split would work? Can I do just establish to discard data at r2?
Thanks.

Was this ever answered I'm looking at a similar plan that has been created by somebody else.
I've never used Establish after a Failover before.
EMC Solution Enabler Symmetrix SRDF Family CLI Version 7.3 Product Guide states that a control option Establish is valid against FailedOver device with the caveat that e. Source is not visible to any host.
Does anybody have any experience running this?
The establish should copy the data from the R1 to the R2 and putting the source and target devices back to the pre-test state and discarding any changes made to the R2 whilst it was failed over.
