Existing Disks in a Windows host went offline when new disks were added using Dynamic Lun Addressing

Hi,

Had a few symdevs from a DMX4 assigned to a Windows 2003 host. Those disks were converted to dynamic disks and couple of spanned volumes were created out of it. They were mounted and all were working fine. When I had to expand those drives, since I didnt have any lun ids available below FF for any of the FAs, I went with Dynamic Lun Addressing for the new devs. All went fine from the DMX end, but when the windows host was rescanned for new disks, the existing drives also went offline! The new ones werent visible either. And when the changes were backed out, the old disks came back online after couple of hours..

Why did it happen so? Would a reboot have resolved the issue (make old and new devs visible)? Is any particular OS patch required while using dynamic lun addressing? Did the drives go offline coz they were dynamic disks?

As far as i remember there was a warning in the forum itself about this(risk in discover new DLA LUNs with existing LUNs online). I guess Dynamx can confirm this faster
