Discovering a CX3-40 through Solutions Enabler

I am trying to discover a CX3-40 through solutions enabler by running symcfg discover -clariion. My host has a Clariion device presented to it.

I get operation denied by clariion array you are not priveledged to perform the requested operation.

I have looked at a few Knowledge Base articales.

I have run a symcfg list authentication and I have also added my Windows Domain account onto the clariion list of admin users. One thing is my CX SP's are not in DNS and we wont be adding them to dns, so should I still be able to discover them.

I have also tried to discover it using

symcfg discover -clariion -f "file with SP IP's in"

I still get the same error.

Has anybody managed to discover and list their CX's using SE when they are not in DNS.

Thanks

Hello,

     Have you tried the following:

Connectivity authorization

Some arrays, such as CLARiiON arrays, require authorization information to provide

access to the array. The

symcfg authorization command can be used to supply this

information for use in subsequent discovery operations. The

symcfg authorization

command allows you to list, add, update, or delete this connectivity information. The

update

action allows you to update the password of an existing entry. Use the

following syntax:

symcfg

authorization list [-vmware] [-v]

authorization -host

HostName

-username

UserName -password PassWord

[-namespace

NameSpace] [-ahost HostName]

[<-vmport | -port>

port] [-vmware]

authorization delete -host

HostName -username UserName

[-namespace

NameSpace] [-vmware]

I copied this from the EMC Solutions Enabler Symmetrix Array Management Product Guide for 7.1.1. Please let me know if it helps...Thanks..
