Hi Kapil,

I gave you a thread of your own, especially since you warned us you ask lots of questions.

Hi there (and I just can't bring myself to use your username!),

The best place to start is always the beginning! The  EMC Proven Professional learning and certification program offers great opportunities to build your knowledge about the overall storage industry via our industry-leading Information Storage and Management (ISM) course.  From there, you can move on to a Specialist level of your choice.

So the first thing you want to do is learn about storage.   Our ISM training and certification is widely known as a broad-based, in-depth survey of all things storage including virtuatlization, NAS, SAN etc.  Find out more about the course and exam here.  Also, from this page you can navigate to our varied means of training:  classroom, our video-based.

Also, we've published an ISM book that not only can help you to prepare for the exam, but is a useful desktop reference.  Learn more about that here; it's available in hardcover and in Kindle formats.  Read more about that option here.

Please let me know if this helps, or if you need additional information.

Hi there,

Our EMC Proven Professional training is offered in a variety of formats; to answer your question, there is a cost associated with our training.  You have a wide selection of ways to learn:  instructor led training, video instructor-led training, online instructor led training, and eLearning.

As you know, the Associate level Information Storage and Management (ISM) course does offer a comprehensive bookf or exam preparation and reference.

Click here to see a full list of our certification exams.  Click under the "Specialty" heading for the certifiction you are interested in, and you will see a page detailing the courses required, the options for learning, and the cost.

Please let me know if that helps!

Hello fellow professionals.

I recently purchase the ISM book. I am willing to sell it to anyone on this group for a reduced price (35) plus shipping.

I"m in Richardson Texas. Please let me know. It's totally new (no marks, highlights etc) thanks

RIck.

Hi Rick,

You'll probably have better luck if you post the book on half.com. I use it all the time to buy my books for my grad school classes. They are affiliated with ebay. Other folks are already using it for the ISM book.
