Power Cooling Module: Has it gone bad?

I've got an old PS4000 that's long out of warranty and I'm trying to decide whether or not to decommission it or to re-purpose it, but lately, I've been getting errors related to the power cooling module about once a week.  The error reads, "Power cooling module 0 is turned off or not receiving power."  When I log in and check the status of the device, it all shows OK.  I can't get any assistance from Dell Tech Support because it's out of warranty so I'm trying to figure out if there are any troubleshooting steps I can take to determine whether or not the power module needs to be replaced so I can get pricing and see if it's worth it to replace the module or scrap the whole thing.  Thanks in advance.

Hello,

The PCM is part of the supply, so the entire power supply would have to be replaced.   Most likely you'd have to find a used/refurbished unit.  I don't believe you can still by these from Dell anymore.

What firmware is that array running?   Firmware might be very old.

Regards,

Don

Thanks so much Donald.  The firmware is v5.0.8 (R191283) but since our warranty has expired, I am unable to log in and download the latest FW.  I also can't get hold of the old admin to ask what his password was for the account he set up to get into the customer support account.  As for the power supply, I did find one online for about $100 refurbished so I'm going to go ahead and purchase it and hope for the best.  Thanks for the advice!
