How to check Equallogic Power Usage?
I couldn't find this information (how many A) with SANHQ, or OpenManage Essential.
I would like to know how much power my EQL boxes are using.
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
Within the EQL I don't know of anyway to determine power usage. In my lab we use APC rackmount power distribution strips. You can monitor and even set alarm thresholds with those.

Don

Hello,
You are welcome. If there was MIB there would be CLI and or a GUI feature for it.
Sorry.
Regards,
Don

Hi Don, if possible, could you kindly check to see roughly how much power does a typical 2U box (e.g., PS6100X) and 3U (e.g., PS6000XV) draw...a rough number in Amper will do. Thanks again

Hello,
I don't have either in my lab and it would also depend on the drives installed, etc.. Also, where my lab is now I don't have access to the PDU's for the arrays I do have.
Sorry.
Regards,
Don

Found the answer, someone actually measured PS5000/PS6000 back then, it's about 300W for the box

Hello,
Interesting. Though, the power supplies are each only 450W max so not surpirsed it's well under that maximum.
Start up power shouldn't be too bad either as the drives are powered on in sequence.
Glad you found the answer and shared it with us.
Regards,
Don

Update: We had a Amp reading power supply installed, PS6100X with 24 900GB is about 1.3A or 286Watts with two PSUs
