Upgrading my Laptop

So I need some help here I'm new to this.

I have Alienware 15 intel I-5 4210h , memory is 8GB ddr3l and Nvidia geforce gtx 965m graphics drive. What should I upgrade first? My memory ?(does it matter the brand like ripjaw(does it have to be ddr3l) , should I go for a graphics amplifier with a new graphics drive? Sooo lost..

Here's the short answer:  Your model Alienware was the first generation that used a soldered CPU and GPU on the mainboard...  You can upgrade the RAM and the HDDs and that's about it.

And the long answer:  The Alienware 15 R1 came in higher spec versions, if you don't mind paying the money and spending the time swapping out the entire mainboard (and possibly the heatsink(s)) you can upgrade to one with an i7 and GTX 970.  Will it be worth the time and money invested for a faster GTX 900 series GPU?  Probably not.

It may just be time for a new gaming machine, because adding more RAM will not make much of a performance boost.  Honestly the current base model Dell G3 gaming laptop will perform better than your current machine.
