Dell TPM 1.2 to 2.0 Update Not working in SCCM/WinPE but log claims it was successful?
Dell TPM 1.2 to 2.0 Update Not working in SCCM/WinPE but log claims it was successful.
Optiplex 3040 (From what I understand this model is supported for the update but it also doesn't offer the updater on the support/driver page for this service tag. But optiplex 3040 is listed as supported).
In the SCCM task sequence the TPM gets cleared and a restart takes place and the update is kicked off. The screen goes to the Dell splash screen with a warning that the firmware is being updated in red writing at 0% and then almost instantly leaves that screen.
This is the log, it sounds like a clean successful update was run?

INSTALLED TPM : 1.2, Firmware Version : 5.81.0.0
UPDATE TPM : 2.0, Firmware Version : 1.3.2.8
Exit Code = 2 (Reboot Required)

What could be the problem here?
SCCM 1910, Optiplex 3040, Windows 10 Enterprise
I need to automate the upgrade of the TPM 1.2 to TPM 2.0 and the rest of the task sequence is also exectuing with no errors.. basically tpmppioverride enable, clear tpm, restart, update tpm, restart, tpmppioveride disable, restart
Sounds like maybe SOME systems in these model lines do not support the update. Maybe I have to manually check every servicetag on the website to see if it offers the update for THAT system... .
"NOTE: Only a limited range of Skylake and Kaby Lake systems support both TPM 1.2 and 2.0 modes. To swap modes you must flash the firmware to the correct mode. Any system that does not list both in the "Drivers and Downloads" section, does not support swapping modes."
