XPS 9000 and XPS 8000 delivery delay issues
The previous thread that mentioned issues of the Studio XPS 9000 and XPS 8000 being delayed or having extensive build times was locked. After a months time I had ordered mine (9/26) and it was supposed to ship on (10/22), after two delays it finally shipped out and will be received today (10/28). If you have any issues or have found any solutions to help get your systems sooner please help others that have also been in this predicament. It would seem the main issue is due to the high demand of I5 and I7 processors and parts being backordered. If you call customer service after a delay often times they will upgrade you to one day shipping, even though it took them three days to actually get it out.

Quit crying, it's getting old.
You sound like a twelve year old kid that needs a nap.

I can understand opening the case and making sure all of the memory sticks and cards are firmly in place and that cables are secure when before turning on something shipped to you, things can come loose, but, should all users be expected to understand how to go into Bios and change settings or update the Bios on a new computer? Shouldn't that be something that was done before it was shipped?

I know that you are burning but you are disturbing the forum atmosphere which you are not suppose to do! Are you working for Dell?

I tried buying a XPS here in Las Vegas and there are none to be found in any of the Best Buys. The salseskid told me that they already have their new line in the back, but are not allowed to even discuss them before the middle of this month. 1/15 or 1/17.
I did "chat" with a salesperson on lone that was willing to take an order, but I would like to know what changes have been made for the new ones...

Look at the title of this topic. If you're satisfied, start another topic. This one is meant for criticism. The posters here are trying to get Dell to respond.
For me, this is my first purchase from Dell and I got my 8000 in a timely manner so in that vain I have no complaints but I may need tech support somewhere down the line. I don't like the way the customers posting here are being treated so I'm not really a proud Dell owner. So I'm here to stand with the others who haven't gotten their computers or answers.

I agree 100%. I usually build my own but couldn't beat the price I got. (I am in the Army and we get another Discount.) You should be able to pull a thousand dollar computer out with zero problems.

As I was crying and taking nap, it came in my search result with bing. I think it is more like a technical issue with Dell's website but on top says "United States" and you can build one up and pay for it and will be shipped out on 1/28/2010 as it says. They may have brought back?:>

It sure looks like a Studio XPS 8000, not an 8100. How did you get to this? Is this on the US site or one in another country? I have heard that they were still selling the 8000 in other countries.

Too much pressure over the weekend and "Very Satisfied" dude, I just bought an XPS 8000 from ebay. Brand new I7 870 with nVidia GTX 260 and 6 GB ram and 750GB HDD for $1041 no tax and Windows 7 Ultimate.
Feels like a god price to me? What do you guys think?

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE CODMW2 at 1920x1200 native with full graphics options on. I am getting ready to buy a dual DVI fed 30" monitor at a much higher native resolution and see what that does. BTW while playing I was transfering 25 GB's of music and downloading content from the net as well as listening to music all at the same time. Handled it with out a hiccup..
