which slot is slot 1 DIMM0, or DIMM1?

I was told to put the slower ram in slot 1, but it is labeled dimm0, and dimm1. Is dimm0 considered slot 1? CPU-Z is showing dimm1 as slot 1 and dimm0 as slot 2...

thanks

Dimm 1 is the slot [1] that's next to the processor.

thanks.

I have the 4550 and I am told that pc2100 is the max speed. Well I have pc2700, and pc2100 in there and I guess I am supposed to put pc2100 in the first slot. I have pc2700 in the first slot and it seems to be running fine. You think I can just leave it or will it perform better the other way?

If you mix the memory, the PC2700 will perform at the same speed of the PC2100. Basically it makes no difference which DIMM the modules are installed in.
