OptiPlex 755 case will not open

When attempting to pull or push lock mechanism to open side panel to get inside unit, mechanism will not budge. Unit has never been opened previously so unknown if this is something that recently happened or not. No padlock has ever been used on unit. Wanted to see if anyone else ever experienced and if there is an easy fix before I end up busting unit.

I forgot to mention it is a Desktop unit. I got a little impatient and frustrated. Noticed there was a slight lift in part of the panel, so I slipped a straight-edge screwdriver and slowly moved my way to front and back side of panel edge with screwdriver and lifted. Finally got panel to give. After having removed, it turns out this panel isn't the same as the others. It has a clip in the middle of that edge instead of the grooved slot. Not sure why it had different panel. Out of warranty so not going to care at this point. Have the panel now working to remove with pull mechanism. Thanks for the reply though.

How this is done depends on which Model you have. The Desktop and smaller side with the feet isn't the side that comes off. Its best to lie it down on the correct side then pull the lever until the case pops. The USFF may have a rear cover over the back that must be removed first.
